About the California Coastal Atlas
The California Coastal Atlas is an experiment in the creation of a new information resource for the description, analysis and understanding of natural and human processes affecting the coast of California.
We are a member of the International Coastal Atlas Network (ICAN). ICAN is a network of organizations implement data interoperability standards for coastal web atlases . The California Coastal Atlas is new, as of June 2009, and undergoing rapid development. Right now we are focusing on developing content, attracting members to our editorial teams and working on making the site well-organized and useful.
